TENS Machines and Cluster Headaches

Cluster headaches - what are they?
Cluster headaches is also known as erythroprosopalgia or Bing-Horton's neuralgia. It usually affects people between their 30's to 50's, though not exclusively.

The pains come in periods or time (clusters) whilst at other times, the patient feels no pain at all. These attacks affect the forehead, temple and behind the eye. In more severe cases, the eye and pupil become smaller. It also becomes red and watery, the nose becomes congested or runs and the forehead can sweat. Pain can last for 10 minutes or 2 hours.

Cluster headaches - What is the best treatment? TENS or electro acupuncture?
Perhaps the best course for cluster headaches is to attempt avoidance. Red wine, nuts, cheese, seefood and chocolate have been known to bring on cluster headaches. Those who are in pain often use drugs such as methysergide, lithium carbonate, valporate or steroids but they can have unpleasant side effects. Most people do not feel happy with chemical substances entering the body or being the exclusive form of treatment.

What is the best cluster headache treatment? TENS or electro acupuncture?
TENS machine pain relief helps alleviate cluster headaches but Body Clock recommends using electro-acupuncture. In particular the Stimplus or Stimplus Pro.These amazing devices apply the same principle as the age-old Chinese therapy of acupuncture, without piercing the skin!

The Stimplus finds acupoints, and then stimulates away pain electronically - without needles.

Body Clock offers a full range of tens machinesems units and other pain relief devices. Body Clock supply hospitals and health centers worldwide.

Body Clock units are FDA approved and CE marked, complying with stringent EU medical device regulations.
